Robbie Keane believes he is still in his prime and hopes his loan switch to Celtic can inspire the Bhoys in the SPL title race.
Keane joined from Spurs until the end of the season in the deal of the day on an otherwise quiet January transfer deadline day on Monday.
The 29-year-old, who counts Liverpool, Leeds and Wolves among a whole host of former clubs, insists he has moved to Celtic Park to help his boyhood heroes close the gap on Old Firm rivals Rangers at the top of the table with plenty of the season still remaining.
Keane, who has had to settle for a place on the bench for much of the season at White Hart Lane, says he moved north of the border to secure regular action once again.
Explaining the surprise switch, he said when asked why he had chose Celtic: "To play football, first and foremost. I'm no different to anyone else," he said.
"I always wanted to play for Celtic and it works out well for both parties.
He added: "I did not want to come here when I was 34 and struggling. I still feel I am in my prime and hope I can help the club."
Keane is expected to be handed his Hoops debut in Tuesday's trip to Kilmarnock and canny punters may now want to use a free bet to back the Bhoys to now go on a long winning run and haul back the 10 points needed to catch Rangers at the top.
