Celtic's chief executive Peter Lawwell has joined Neil Lennon in believing there is a good chance Gary Hooper could stay at the club.
Hooper has so far rejected all contract offers that have been put on the table as speculation suggests he could head to the English Premier League at the end of the season, but Lawwell says he could stay.
Lennon has a 'gut feeling' the striker will remain at Parkhead and Lawwell believes that is not beyond the realms of possibility.
"Gary has a year and you never know. A lot has to do with the player and what he wants to do but there are three parties," Lawwell told Sky Sports.
"There's us, the player and then there is also what is there for the player. If there is a possibility the kid wants to stay and that is Neil's gut feeling, who knows?
"We know where we are, I'm sure the player knows where he is, but what we don't have is the third leg to all of that."
