Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura's proposed move to Yokohama Marinos has hit 'unforeseen problems'.
The 30-year-old was expected to sign for the Japanese side this week but the move has been put on hold, with the Marinos director Masaharu Saito admitting the talks have stalled.
Rumours have continued to circulate that Nakamura has received an improved offer from a Spanish club which has made him re-think his move to the J-League.
Saito has informed the local press that he has yet to hear from Nakamura's representatives, but still believes the deal will go through soon.
"At this point in time we still have no answer from Nakamura's representatives. We have tried to put together the best offer we can and are just waiting for a reply," he told Japan Today.
"There have been unforeseen problems and that is why discussions are taking longer than first expected. But I believe we will soon get the answer we are hoping for."
