Charlton boss Phil Parkinson is confident his team can still mount a bid for automatic promotion despite a disappointing week.

The Addicks only picked a solitary point from two home games against struggling Leyton Orient and Tranmere and are now eight points behind table toppers Norwich.

The fans at the Valley booed the team off on Saturday and the manager is only too aware of the growing unrest on the terraces.

Parkinson told the club website: "There has been an edginess which has shown in our performances, but we've just got to relax everybody down again because there's a long way to go."
