Addicks chase Hungary ace

CharltonCharlton are in the hunt for Plymouth defender Krisztian Timar who could follow fellow Hungarian Peter Halmosi out of the club.

The Pilgrims are still coming to terms with the fact that Halmosi has left to sign for Hull City in a deal worth £2.5million and now reports claim Timar could be heading for The Valley.

The 28-year-old still has a year to go on his deal at Home Park but Addicks boss Alan Pardew is ready to offer him more cash in a bid to lure him away.

Argyle manager Paul Sturrock will do all he can to keep Timar and hopes handing him the captain's armband will convince him to stay on.
