Addicks chase Rinaldi

CharltonCharlton Athletic are in the running to sign former Watford midfielder Douglas Rinaldi, who is a free agent after being released.

The Brazilian midfielder signed for Watford in 2007, originally on loan, before boss Aidy Boothroyd made the deal permanent after several successful appearances in the Premier League.

However, after Watford were relegated from the top flight, Rinaldi failed to make a single appearance and his contract was terminated by mutual consent earlier this summer.

The Addicks will face competition for the Brazilian's signature, with Birmingham, Plymouth, Swansea and Edinburgh duo Hibernian and Hearts all reported to be interested in the 27-year-old.
