Charlton Athletic are in the running to sign former Watford midfielder Douglas Rinaldi, who is a free agent after being released.However, after Watford were relegated from the top flight, Rinaldi failed to make a single appearance and his contract was terminated by mutual consent earlier this summer.
The Addicks will face competition for the Brazilian's signature, with Birmingham, Plymouth, Swansea and Edinburgh duo Hibernian and Hearts all reported to be interested in the 27-year-old.
