Addicks striker pens new deal

CharltonCharlton Athletic forward Chris Dickson has penned a new deal with the club which extends his contract until 2010.

Dickson is steadily making his way into boss Alan Pardew's first team line-up. Though Dickson has yet to start a match, the striker who arrived at The Valley 18 months ago, made his debut in a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup third round last season.

Dickson, who has featured on the substitute's bench twice this season, told the club's official website: "It's turning out to be a good week for me. Negotiations had been ongoing for a while now, but I'm glad we have all come to an agreement which keeps me at the club for an extra year.

"The gaffer has clearly shown faith in me by offering me a new deal and now is the time for me to start repaying him, the club, and most importantly, the fans, who have continued to support me."

Dickson is currently in Tanzania where he is set to make his international debut with Ghana.
