Southend midfielder Nicky Bailey has completed his move to Charlton in a deal which could cost the Londoners £750,000.Speaking following Charlton's shock 1-0 Carling Cup defeat against Yeovil at the Valley on Tuesday, Pardew told the club's website: "He's a young player that we have been tracking for some time.
"We felt it was an area we needed to strengthen, and Nicky comes into add to the competition with our other central midfield players.
"To score 12 goals in League Two is a good total, and I'm hoping he can repeat that kind of success with Southend here."
