Another striker heads for exit door

CharltonWolves boss Mick McCarthy is on the verge of beating Crystal Palace to sign Charlton striker Chrs Iwelumo.

Talks for Iwelumo are reported to be at an advanced stage and the 29-year-old is expected to complete his switch to Molineux in the early part of this week.

Iwelumo, who was an ever-present for Charlton last season scoring 10 goals, is set to join Wolves other summer signings Richard Stearman, David Jones and Sam Vokes.

And his arrival will mean McCarthy has plenty of competition for places up front with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Andy Keogh ready to battle with Iwelumo, Vokes and transfer-listed Stephen Elliott.
