Charlton face a battle to keep hold of loan goalkeeper Carl Ikeme after Sheffield United declared their interest in the Wolves man.

Phil Parkinson swooped to land Ikeme on loan following an injury to Robbie Elliott but the Blades are now keen and could offer him the chance to play in the Championship.

United boss Kevin Blackwell has confirmed he wants a goalkeeper from the Premiership and Ikeme is said to be the man he is after.

Blackwell said: "We have to get some back-up but it'll not be a lower-league goalkeeper.

"We are after a Premier League 'keeper who is out on loan at another club at the moment, and so we are going to have to have look to see if we can do it."
