Cottagers reject Addicks bid

CharltonFulham have rejected an approach from Premier League hopefuls Charlton to sign Hameur Bouazza on loan.

Addicks manager Alan Pardew had hoped to complete a temporary agreement for the Algerian forward but was knocked back by Craven Cottage officials.

"We had made contact with Fulham, but they don't want to do business at the moment," Pardew told his official club website.

Bouazza struggled with fitness last season and reports had suggested Roy Hodgson was prepared to let him leave, with Spanish duo Espanyol and Osasuna, along with Fulham's Premier League rivals Wigan, monitoring his situation.

Hodgson has since changed tack and is ready to assess Bouazza in pre-season before making a decision on his future.
