Charlton have parted company with Zheng Zhi after the midfielder turned down the offer of a new deal with the Addicks.

Boss Phil Parkinson had been hoping to get the Chinese ace tied down to a new deal at The Valley but following relegation to League One the player has decided to move on.

"Zizi's advisors have made clear that he's not keen on playing in the third flight," Parkinson told the club's website. "He wants to play at the highest possible level and it's clear they are pursuing other options."
