Pardew fails in winger approach

CharltonFulham boss Roy Hodgson has rejected an approach from Charlton to sign winger Hameur Bouazza on loan.

Charlton manager Alan Pardew expressed an interest in taking the former Watford star to the Valley earlier this month but Hodgson is keen to assess Bouazzas fitness during pre-season before making a decision on his future.

The Algerian international struggled for fitness in the second half of last season and Pardew said: "We had made contact with Fulham, but they don't want to do business at the moment,"

Spanish duo Espanyol and Osasuna, along with Wigan, have also been linked with offers for the winger.
