Charlton boss Alan pardew says he is pleased with the way Nicky Bailey has settled in since his move to the Valley.After Charlton's 4-2 victory over Reading Pardew said: "Bailey was outstanding. He's jumping up a division and he's not that long out of non-league football so we've taken a big gamble on him.
"It's the only money I'm going to spend but he's lived up to every penny of the £400,000. He was brilliant for us."
The 24-year-old midfielder was playing for non-league side Sutton United until he moved to Barnet in 2004 before moving to Southend for just one season in July 2007.
