Pardew joins queue for Honduras ace

CharltonCharlton are one of a number of English clubs said to be keeping a close eye on Honduras striker Carlos Costly.

The 25-year-old is back in Central America preparing for his country's World Cup qualifiers against Puerto Rico after impressing last season, scoring 11 goals for Polish side GKS Belchatow.

But a host of scouts from Europe are set to watch Honduras in action over the next ten days, as they did last week when they tackled Venezuela.

Costly is reported to have impressed Wigan boss Steve Bruce on that occasion, while other clubs including Sunderland, Derby, Birmingham, Fulham and Charlton are said to be taking a keen interest.

He trained with Birmingham in January while Leeds and Plymouth also made enquiries last season, and it is now believed he favours a summer move to England.
