Pardew makes Campo approach

CharltonIpswich manager Jim Magilton has confirmed Charlton want to sign Ivan Campo in a possible swap deal for Darren Ambrose.

Magilton has today confirmed that Charlton have registered an interest in Campo with a swap deal involving Darren Ambrose looking more and more likely.

He said: "Charlton manager Alan Pardew did ask me about Ivan after Tuesday's game having been impressed with his performance in our match at Charlton earlier this month.

"But that is as far as it went and I have nothing else to report. If he wants to take it any further then he only has to pick the phone up and speak to me.

"Ivan may not be in the team at the moment but he is a massive influence at this football club and I know the importance of him.

"I have gone on record already to say that Darren (Ambrose) is a player that I am keeping tabs on but at the moment he is in the Charlton team and I expect him to be so again tomorrow."
