Pards blasts swap deal talk

Charlton boss Alan Pardew has blasted reports Darren Ambrose is heading to Ipswich with Ivan Campo moving the other way.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton is keen to take Ambrose back to Portman Road and revealed last week that Pardew asked him about the possibility of taking Campo to the Valley.

Magilton was quoted as saying: "Charlton manager Alan Pardew did ask me about Ivan after Tuesday's game having been impressed with his performance in our match at Charlton earlier this month.

"But that is as far as it went and I have nothing else to report. If he wants to take it any further then he only has to pick the phone up and speak to me."

However, Pardew has hit back and has ruled out a swoop for the former Bolton man. "Campo was never coming here. That was never a goer," he said.
