Pards hopes for midfielder deal

CharltonCharlton boss Alan Pardew is hoping Amdy Faye completes his move to Stoke so he can use the cash to strengthen his ranks.

Faye is currently training with the Premiership new boys and if Pardew can get him off the wage bill then he will have more scope to bring in some new faces.

The player himself is keen on a move to the Britannia Stadium so a deal is looking promising.

"I have enjoyed my time training at Stoke and everyone has made me feel very welcome," Faye told skysports.com. "I know some of the lads here already like Salif Diao, Andy Griffin and Vincent Pericard and things have gone well so far.

"I have been impressed by Tony Pulis and the club and I believe they can go on to great things. I would like to be a part of that and help the club establish itself in the Premier League.

"I am keen to get back playing in the Premier League and get my career back on track."
