Charlton boss Phil Parkinson believes his players have what it takes to gain promotion but admits he is looking for new additions.

Parkinson saw his side lose for the first time at home this season in a 1-0 defeat to local rivals Leyton Orient, but despite the setback, the Charlton boss says he will not panic and is only looking at the right players for the club.

He told the club website: "One or two additions would possibly give us a lift but if we don't get them then this group of players haven't done too badly."

Former Addicks front man Scott McLeish scored the only goal of the game in controversial circumstances after Nicky Bailey appeared to be fouled in the build-up. However Parkinson believes that he and the players only have themselves to blame for last night's disappointing result.

"Nick felt there was a foul but I don't want to be moaning at the referee as we could have dealt with the ball coming in, we possibly could have defended better and done more to stop the goal going in," he added.
