Rovers hitman signs

CharltonThe Addicks have completed the signing of prolific non-league goalscorer Stuart Fleetwood from Forest Green Rovers.

Alan Pardew has beaten off competition from Crystal Palace and Crewe Alexandra to land the 22-year-old who scored 36 goals for the Blue Square Premier outfit last season.

Fleetwood's goals earned him the Golden Boot and he was also voted Blue Square Premier Player of the Season.

The former Wales Under-21 international has signed a three-year deal to become the Addicks' second signing of the summer after being linked with a host of Football League clubs.

Despite being a free agent, Charlton will pay Rovers a 'developmental' compensation fee for Fleetwood because he is under the age of 24, which will be decided at a tribunal.
