Second midfielder bid imminent

CharltonCharlton are still hoping to wrap up a deal for Southend midfielder Nicky Bailey despite already failing with one offer.

Addicks boss Alan Pardew is keen to get the player on board, while Bailey himself has admitted it would be a 'dream' to complete a move to The Valley.

However, cash is tight at Charlton and Pardew is hoping to find away to come up with the extra money to convince the Shrimpers to sell.

"As for Bailey, all I would say, without telling any porkies, is that it's true," Pardew told the club's official website. "Finances are very tight here so we will see.

"But they won (against Peterborough on Saturday), so hopefully they'll be in a good mood."
