The Eagles also struggled last season before storming into the play-offs and Hudson says Charlton can do the same.
"It's really important that we try to relax when we play and not let it affect us too much if we fall behind," he told the South London Press. "There seems to be a bit of nervousness on the pitch at present because of where we are in the table and that will only go away once we get a few wins under our belts.
"We need to be patient. There is still plenty of football to play this year and as long as we are within striking distance of the play-offs by Christmas then we will be okay.
"When I look around the dressing room and see the quality that we have in our squad, I know we will turn things around.
"It hasn't been the best of starts but once our confidence improves then I'm certain we will shoot up the table. We all have to stick together and fight as a squad to get ourselves out of trouble - there's absolutely no need to panic at the moment."
