Striker agrees £1m switch

CharltonCardiff are poised to finalise a £1 million move for Charlton's Marcus Bent after agreeing a three-year deal with the striker.

Bent agreed terms with the FA Cup finalists over the weekend and the 32-year-old will complete his switch to Ninian Park subject to passing a medical.

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "He's agreed to sign and we expect him to be on our trip to Portugal."

Cardiff leave for Portugal on Tuesday and play a friendly against Setubal on Saturday before competing in the Algarve Cup.

Bent was on loan at Premier League side Wigan last season, scoring seven goals in 25 starts and had also been targeted by Birmingham.
