Welsh striker poised for Addicks switch

CharltonConference side Forest Green say they expect their striker Stuart Fleetwood to join Charlton in the new future.

The 22-year-old Welshman, top scorer in the Blue Square Premier last season, is out-of-contract with the non-league outfit but will still cost the Addicks a compensation fee because he is under the age of 24.

Having turned down a move to League One Crewe during the January transfer window, the 34-goal frontman is now poised for a crack at the Championship with the Addicks.

Speaking to the BBC, Forest Green manager Jim Harvey revealed: "My understanding is that Stuart has spoken to Charlton, and I think things are pretty much tied up.

"He's on holiday at the moment and when he returns I believe things will be sorted out one way or the other."
