Winger snubs move for rivals

CharltonBlackpool winger Wes Hoolahan has turned down a move to Charlton in favour of signing for Championship rivals Norwich City.

The Canaries have paid an undisclosed fee for the highly-rated winger who has been attracting plenty of interest from clubs in the Championship this summer.

The Addicks were in the hunt to land Hoolahan, who has set his heart on playing in the Premiership and believes joining Norwich is a good move for him.

"I am delighted to be joining Norwich City," he said. "I had several options but as soon as I met the manager and saw the facilities, I knew Norwich City were a club that matched my ambitions.

"I want to play Premier League football as soon as possible and I feel that this move will give me that opportunity. Norwich City have a fantastic fanbase and play the type of football that suits my game."
