£5m defender deal done

ChelseaMan City have completed their expected signing of Chelsea defender Tal Ben-Haim on a four-year deal subject to a work permit.

The Blues have not disclosed the size of the fee which has seen the Israel star make the move to Eastlands but it is thought they have paid around £5m.

Ben-Haim made his name at Bolton before quitting on a free transfer last summer in order to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

But the 26-year-old failed to force his way into the side and Chelsea were open to offers this summer.

Ben-Haim will receive a work permit with no problem given the fact he is an established international with a country currently ranked 21st in the world by FIFA.
