Barca quiet over Drogba

ChelseaNew Barcelona boss Josep Guardiola has refused to rule out the possibility he will make a bid for Chelsea's Didier Drogba

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for the majority of the summer, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Barcelona all registering their interested in the powerful forward.

Yesterday evening Guardiola was asked whether he would be pursuing his interest in Drogba and Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor, the new Barca boss kept tight lipped but refused to rule out the possibility of making a bid for one of the forwards.

"I'm not here to speak about them," said the former Barca midfielder.

"I have many excellent players and I am working with them. All good players are interesting and those players are interesting but there are many, many good players, in England, Germany, everywhere."

When pressed further on the issue Guardiola passed the buck on the matter on to Barcelona's sporting director Txiki Beguiristain.

"I don't know. The sporting director can talk about that better than me."
