Chelsea's David Luiz is now reportedly Barcelona's number one target after they failed to land Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva.
The Catalans had long been linked with a move for Silva but the Brazil international defender appears set to stay in the French capital having enjoyed a solid first season in Ligue 1.
It seems as though the Blaugrana have now turned their attentions to Silva's compatriot, who has just begun pre-season training at Stamford Bridge under returning boss Jose Mourinho.
Whether or not the versatile player will be allowed to leave is open to question but his agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, has reportedly already held talks with Barca's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.
Bayern Munich are also said to be keen and so Barca might face stiff competition for Luiz's signature if he is given the green light to leave west London.
