Branislav Ivanovic could miss Chelsea's next three games after punching Wigan's Shaun Maloney at the weekend.
The Chelsea defender appeared to strike Maloney in the stomach in the lead up to Juan Mata's stoppage time winner on Saturday but the incident was missed by the match officials who took no action.
However the incident has been picked up on camera and reports claim the FA's disciplinary panel will view the footage today before dishing out a punishment, which is likely to be the usual three-game ban for violent conduct.
If he is found guilty then the Serbian will miss Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham at Wembley as well as vital Premier League games against Arsenal and QPR as Chelsea push for a top for place.
The player is crucial in Roberto Di Matteo's plans and the Italian will be far from happy with his actions at such a crucial stage in the season.
