Blues eye double swoop

Chelsea have invited Uzbekistan's Server Djeparov and UAE starlet Ahmed Khalil over to England with a view to signing the duo.

Djeparov and Khalil, who were recently named Asia's Player and Young Player of the Year respectively, have caught the eye of Blues officials and Luiz Felipe Scolari is keen to take a good look.

Blues spokesman Simon Greenberg has confirmed the Asian duo are due to jet into England to undergo a month-long trial and there is every chance they could sign if they impress.

"Subject to getting all the necessary permissions and the players wanting to come, we would be delighted to welcome Server and Ahmed at Cobham," he said.

"Our agreement with the AFC is proof of our commitment to help develop football in Asia and this invitation can only increase the exposure to the world of the quality in Asian football."
