Chelsea could offer Thibaut Courtois a new, improved deal to fight off Atletico Madrid, who want him on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper has been a revelation for Atletico since joining them on loan and reports are now rife that the Madrid outfit will make a move to sign him permanently in the summer.
Courtois is also said to be up for the move as he is playing regular first-team football at a top club in La Liga and does not want to return to playing second fiddle at Stamford Bridge.
However, after missing out on Jack Butland on deadline day, Chelsea are keen to secure his future and will offer him a bumper new deal with the promise he will one day replace Petr Cech.
Whether that will be good enough to keep him remains to be seen but all will become a lot clearer come the end of the season.
