Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been granted permission to remain on loan with Atletico Madrid for a third successive season.
Courtois had already revealed his desire to remain with the La Liga side after enjoying a fruitful couple of seasons in Spain and is eager to put himself in prime position for inclusion in the Belgium national squad during the build up to a World Cup year.
The 21-year-old helped Diego Simeone's side win the Europa League in 2012, the European Super Cup against his parent club and the Copa del Rey during his two-year stint.
The west London club signed the stopper from Genk in 2011 but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Stamford Bridge side.
Courtois said: "I am very happy because it was what I wanted.
"I have always said that I wanted to continue at Atletico next season and take part in such an important competition as the Champions League after we qualified for it in such a brilliant way.
"I am only thinking about continuing to enjoy the incredible support that we have and I hope we can continue to bring them a lot of happiness."
