Blues handed Prem Cup test

Chelsea have been drawn to face Premier League rivals Portsmouth in the tie of the Carling Cup third round.

The Blues, last season's runners-up, will head to Fratton Park to face the FA Cup winners in one of four all-Premier League ties, as the teams in Europe enter at this stage.

The tie will also be a family affair, with Harry Redknapp coming up against his nephew Frank Lampard. The other top-flight sides facing each other in the third round are Manchester United v Middlesbrough, Newcastle v Tottenham and Blackburn v Everton.

The ties will take place in the week commencing September 22.
