Chelsea have reportedly made good progress in their negotiations with Atletico Madrid over a deal to sign Radamel Falcao this summer.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a raid for the prolific 27-year-old Colombian international striker, who has scored 22 goals in 26 La Liga outings so far this season, since he scored a hat-trick past them in the 4-1 Super Cup defeat back in August.
And, having revealed last month that talks had already opened between the clubs, it now seems that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has made inroads into getting something agreed for Falcao to make the move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Falcao has been valued at around £40million while there have been reports that current Chelsea striker Fernando Torres could return to his former club as part of the deal.
More recent reports have claimed that Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is currently in his second season-long loan with Atletico Madrid, could stay in the Spanish capital in a cash-plus-player agreement.
