Blues set for Real raid

ChelseaThe agent of Real Madrid's £25million-rated Brazilian striker Robinho has revealed the player could be close to joining Chelsea.

New Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is due to officially take up his role on Tuesday amid mounting speculation he is interested in taking fellow countryman Robinho to Stamford Bridge on a lucrative four-year deal.

Spanish giants Real Madrid are thought to be willing to offload Robinho as they aim to raise funds in their quest to sign Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo. And the player's agent Wagner Ribeiro expects the two clubs to start negotiations at some stage this week.

"It is not new but now with the arrival of Scolari to the bench they have increased the contact," Ribeiro said in the Daily Star.

"I expect there to be an official contact between the clubs this week."
