Chelsea are ready to launch a £10million bid to land Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis in the transfer window.
The Blues are on the look out for at least one striker in January and France international Gomis, who is nicknamed 'Baby Drogba', is said to be on the wanted list.
Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is closing in on a move to Liverpool and interim boss Rafa Benitez will use the £12million raised from his sale to land his replacement Gomis.
The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to England and could now get his chances after firing home an impressive 11 goals in 19 league games this season.
Chelsea could still move for Radamel Falcao, while Barcelona's David Villa remains a target despite the Catalan giants insisting he is not for sale in January.
