Chelsea are stepping up their interest in Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after watching the striker in action.
According to reports in France, Chelsea had scouts present on Friday night as Saint-Etienne took on Rennes and the highly-rated striker was the player under the microscope.
The Gabon international did not disappoint either as he bagged the equalising goal in a 2-2 draw as Saint-Etienne continued their push for Champions League football.
Chelsea are not the only club showing an interest in the 23-year-old as Newcastle and Tottenham have a strong interest but the Blues will be confident of doing a deal.
As doubts surround the future of Fernando Torres, at least one new striker will be needed this summer and Aubameyang appears to be on the list of targets.
