Chelsea are reported to be lining up a swoop for Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy after missing out on Jack Butland.
Petr Cech will remain Chelsea's number one as long as he is fit and well but the Blues are keen to draft in at least one more keeper as Hilario is out of contract in the summer, while reports claim Ross Turnbull is not seen a long-term successor to Cech.
Chelsea missed out on Butland during the winter window when the youngster opted to join Stoke City and now Blues officials will turn to Royals goalkeeper McCarthy.
The 23-year-old was impressing for Reading in the Premier League this season and was on the verge of a call up to the England squad before he picked up a serious shoulder injury.
McCarthy is now back in training and Reading could face a battle to keep hold of him in the summer with Liverpool and Newcastle also said to be keen on the player.
