Chelsea are set to focus on Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto'o or Jackson Martinez of Porto if they miss out on Wayne Rooney.
Manchester United boss David Moyes claims that Rooney is not for sale at any price in the wake of interest from the Blues and now Arsenal appear to have entered the running for the unsettled striker.
Jose Mourinho is lining up different targets if the Rooney move becomes too difficult to pull off and former star Eto'o is on his list as is Martinez from Porto.
Eto'o is after a two-year deal and could be available on the cheap given that he is 32 but Martinez would cost around £20m.
Reports in Portugal claim the Porto hitman is the new target, and that Mourinho is closing in on a deal for the player before the window shuts.
