FA back England skipper

NewsThe FA disciplinary panel have upheld Chelsea's claim of wrongful dismissal for John Terry, who will now face Manchester United.

The England captain was shown the red card during his side's 3-1 win at Manchester City following a foul on City's Brazilian striker Jo, but Chelsea decided to appeal against the decision with the crunch clash with Sir Alex Ferguson's men on the horizon.

Following a hearing, the Football Association decided to overturn the dismissal made by referee Mark Halsey and Terry can now play a part in Sunday's big showdown at Stamford Bridge, a decision which is likely to have an impact on those looking to use their £25 free bet.

Meanwhile, United will be without Michael Carrick, who is expected to be out for around four to six weeks after breaking a bone in his foot during last weekend's defeat at Liverpool.

Cristiano Ronaldo though is back in training and last season's leading scorer is expected to make his return following ankle surgery, in the high-profile fixture.
