Guarin agent makes Chelsea claim

Last Updated: Wed, 18 Dec 2013 11:07

The agent of Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin claims Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement to sign the midfielder in January.

Reports in Italy claim Chelsea are planning a £15million bid for the 27-year-old and Guarin's agent Marcelo Ferreyra has now revealed a deal is close to being completed.

"Chelsea are trying to get the agreement with Inter," said Ferreyra.

"When that happens, Fredy will accept the move and the deal will be closed."

Manchester United have also been linked with the Colombia international but it would seem as though Chelsea are set to win the battle for his signature.

It has been reported the Blues will pay a £10million fee up front, with the remaining £5million of the transfer fee to be paid in instalments.
