Hazard secured German move

Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard has joined Borussia Monchengladbach on loan, the German side have claimed.

Hazard, the younger brother of Chelsea star Eden, has spent the last two season on loan in his native Belgium with Zulte Waregem but had been keen to move to one of Europe's top leagues for the 2014-15 campaign.

The 21-year-old had also been tracked by the likes of Stoke, Schalke and Wolfsburg but Monchengladbach have announced Hazard will be joining them on loan.

Sporting director Max Eberl telling the Rheinischen Post: "We were always going to make an attacking signing, no matter what the situation is with [current forwards] Luuk de Jong and Peniel Mlapa, and this will be Thorgan Hazard.

"We have exchanged contracts with Chelsea and we have agreed with Thorgan, we have all agreed and now just need to sign the contracts."

Chelsea are yet to confirm the deal but Hazard is expected to join the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan-deal.
