Inter line up Torres swoop

Last Updated: Sat, 08 Mar 2014 10:44

Inter Milan are reportedly preparing a summer bid for Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, whose future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain.

The Spain striker still has over two years left on his Blues contract but, after struggling to regularly find the back of the net in the Premier League since his £50m move from Liverpool in 2011, he is being tipped with a move away in the summer.

Boss Jose Mourinho has criticised his misfiring strike-force on several occasions this season and it is thought he will bring in an experienced frontman ahead of next season, with the likes of Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao and Diego Costa being linked.

Italian giants Inter are said to be keen on Torres and are set to make a summer bid in the region of £10-15m to try and land him - a figure Chelsea may be prepared to do business at.

Torres has also been linked with a return to former club Atletico Madrid as his future at the club looks increasingly uncertain.
