Inter out of Lamps running

ChelseaInter Milan have given up hope of landing Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard this summer as they close on Sulley Muntari.

The Italian giants have been chasing Lampard all summer but as they close in on a £12.8million swoop for Portsmouth midfielder Muntari, their interest has now waned.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech also expects Lampard to be around for at least one more season, but hopes that the Blues will be able to tie him down to a new deal.

"He has one year (left) on his contract - so that's for sure," Cech revealed. "I hope they will find an agreement with the club and he will stay more than one year.

"He's really one of the key figures in our team over the last five years. So it's always important to keep players like that, especially when he can 20 goals a season from midfield."
