Roberto Di Matteo has told his players they are not in the Champions League semi-finals just yet following the 1-0 win at Benfica.

Salomon Kalou grabbed the only goal of the game at the Stadium of Light to put Chelsea in a commanding position going into the second leg but Di Matteo is well aware that Benfica will not give up without a fight.

The Portuguese side have proven already this season they are a match for Europe's best away from home and Di Matteo says he cannot sleep easy just yet.

"I think we've put ourselves in a good position, but it's not a result you can rely upon for the home game. It's one goal," he said after the game.

"You look at he results Benfica have achieved in this Champions League...you're not going to sleep very calmly looking at that."

The Blues had it all to do against Napoli in the previous round and Di Matteo admits his side are in a much better position going into the second leg against Benfica.

"We are pleased that we're in a different position going into the second leg," he added. "We had a mountain to climb against Napoli. We still have a mountain, but it may be a little bit smaller because we've achieved a good result here."
