Juan Mata is the latest Chelsea player to be linked with Barcelona as reports claim a January swoop could be on the cards.
The Catalan giants failed with a bid to sign David Luiz during the summer after Chelsea refused the Brazilian defender a move, while recent reports have claimed they want goalkeeper Petr Cech to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes at the end of the season.
Now reports in the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo suggest Barca will make a move to take Mata back to Spain when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.
Mata has insisted he is happy at Stamford Bridge following the return of Jose Mourinho, but that could change if he is still struggling for first-team football come the turn of the year.
Arsenal and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the 25-year-old but the chance to return to Spain could be too tempting to turn down if Barca do make a move.
