Milan swoop ruled out

ChelseaAC Milan have been told by Chelsea that Andriy Shevchenko is not for sale and they have now called off their chase.

Milan have constantly been linked with a move for their former striker following a troubled time at Stamford Bridge but their vice-president Adriano Galliani says a deal will not happen.

Milan have been in touch with Chelsea but have been told by Blues owner Roman Abramovich that the striker is not for sale, which would suggest he is firmly in the plans of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"Shevchenko's not for sale," Galliani said of the situation. "I've asked officially and Roman Abramovich said no, so we must be serious and disciplined.

"Should a club say no, we must accept. It means we have to think of something else."
