Mourinho plans Samba swoop

Last Updated: Wed, 18 Jun 2014 03:35

Jose Mourinho hopes to continue his Chelsea spending spree by adding Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis to his squad.

Mourinho is wasting no time in strengthening his Chelsea ranks ahead of the new campaign and has already swooped on Atletico after agreeing deals for Deigo Costa and Tiago.

They could now be joined by Brazilian left-back Luis after reports claimed that Mourinho agreed to match the £21million release clause in the players contract.

The Chelsea boss wants a new left-back as Ashley Cole heads for the exit door and had been heavily linked with Southampton starlet Luke Shaw.

However he now looks set to swoop on Atletico again with Luis also tipped to arrive. There have also been suggestions Atletico will want Romelu Lukaku to move in the opposite direction as they look to replace Costa.

Cesc Fabregas has also arrived at Chelsea this summer, but Mourinho is recouping some cash with the departure of David Luiz, while Lukaku will also follow.
