Trabzonspor have joined Turkish rivals Galatasaray in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, reports have claimed.
Mikel is thought to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge following the return of Jose Mourinho and a move away looks to be on the cards.
Galatasary have already confirmed their interest in the Nigerian midfielder but they now face competition from Trabzonspor, who are reported to have made a bid to hijack the move.
Mikel is still under contract and Chelsea will be looking for a fee in the region of £16million, a figure that both clubs are able to match according to reports in Turkey.
The midfielder is currently recuperating following the Confederations Cup and his future will be sorted one way or the other once he returns from his holiday.
