Rafa Benitez hailed John Terry following his two goals against Fulham but hinted he could miss out against Liverpool this weekend.
The Chelsea skipper was on the bench during Sunday's FA Cup semi-final defeat against Manchester City but returned to the side in devastating fashion as the Blues won 3-0 at Craven Cottage last night.
Benitez was understandably delighted with his display but revealed after the game that he will make changes for the Liverpool clash and that could mean Terry missing out.
Whether Terry can play two games in a week has been a big talking point, but Benitez says the central defender is not alone at this stage of a hectic season.
"I think the most important thing is the team," Benitez revealed. "They know the most important thing is the team is winning. I'm really pleased with his performance but at the end of the day the team has to be winning.
"We have been playing two games a week for four or five months, so it's not easy keeping the players focused, concentrated and not tired.
"We have to keep them ready for every game. Every player wants to play every game, but they have to realise they can't do that and be 100 per cent in each game."
